Scotchgard
Scotchgard™ Algae Resistance on Malarkey Legacy® shingles uses 3M™ copper-containing granules to prevent black streaks caused by algae, keeping roofs clean and vibrant. This system provides 20-year protection, ensuring that shingles resist discoloration even in humid or shaded areas prone to algae growth. With Scotchgard™, homeowners enjoy a low-maintenance, long-lasting aesthetic appeal without frequent cleaning.
Algae Resistant
Algae growth can cause black stains, which can alter the color of your roof and make it appear aged. Highlander AR shingles help to keep your roof looking cleaner for longer and includes a 10-year warranty.

SBS Modified Asphalt

Real Seal Protection
A rain seal helps hold shingles in place during high winds and protects against wind-blown rain entering beneath the shingles. Malarkey laminate shingles are manufactured with an extra line of defense in the critical area for laminated shingles, with double SEBS asphalt rain seals. Malarkey’s SEBS asphalt has adhesive properties to join the shingle together and cohesive properties to prevent it from separating. SEBS is also flexible down to 0F (-18C), ensuring the rain seal remains intact through freeze and thaw cycles.

Improper fastener placement is the leading cause of incorrect shingle installation and can subsequently void the warranty. Malarkey laminate shingles are manufactured with The Zone patented nailing area, which is over three times larger than other laminate shingles and dramatically improves correct fastener placement.
